Union members who work at the Oregon Department of Justice’s Division of Child Support had a chance to visit with Rep. Betty Komp (D-Woodburn) during a noon meeting on Aug. 22 at the Capitol Business Center in Salem. Komp serves on the full Ways & Means Committee, whose members write the state budget, and co-chairs that committee’s Education Subcommittee.

Rep. Komp talked with SEIU members about the range of quality services that state workers provide and about her passion for serving working people and middle-class families. She shared her story of struggle growing up on a farm and how she could use our members’ help getting back in the legislature to continue to ally with SEIU and and public workers throughout the state.
