After more than eighteen months of tough negotiations, we just received notice that the Arbitrator has unfortunately decided in favor of the State’s proposal for a 6% rate cut for DD providers effective October 1, 2012.
While this is not the outcome we fought hard for, our bargaining team is proud that we protected DD providers from a 10% rate cut for over a year, which saved providers an average of $345 per client per month or over $4,000 a year per client. Click here for more information on other improvements we have won in this bargaining.
It is more important now, more than ever before, that we build the power and resources we need to make improvements. In just a few months, we will be back at the bargaining table fighting to restore this 6% cut and to make progress on other issues important to DD providers like the SNAP Tool. Tell everyone you know to call 1.800.452.2146 and ask for a care provider organizer to find out how you can help!
“We fought back against the rate cuts as hard as we could and gave it everything we had. I am proud that we were able to hold off the cuts for over a year. This is a difficult day for us all, but we must also turn our focus to the future and continue the fight in 2013.” – Stephanie Krohn, DD Provider, Rogue River
