Marion County employees picketed the Marion County Commission on Thursday, September 6.
Marion County workers conducted an informational picket on Thursday night, Sept. 6, outside the MAPS Credit Union Building in Salem, where the Marion County Commissioners’ office is located.
The SEIU 503-represented employees are asking the Commissioners to settle the contract, which expired June 30, in the hope of avoiding a possible strike. On Aug. 30, MCEA members overwhelmingly authorized their bargaining team to call for a work stoppage if necessary. No other bargaining sessions have been scheduled at this time.
