The Joint Ways and Means Committee of the Oregon legislature is holding field hearings on budget cuts. Cuts in many services could be as deep as 20-30%. These hearings are a great opportunity for front line workers to tell their story about the importance of providing quality services, the record demand for services, the challenges of short-staffing, and the impact of furlough days. Testimony at the meeting will be limited to two minutes. Oral and written testimonies are both encouraged.
