Adult Foster Care Providers should
be honored, respected and valued. We care for elderly and disabled
Oregonians, allowing them to live in dignity. Yet, we continue to feel
under-appreciated.
The 2007 Adult Foster Care Survey revealed that just
one provider in 25 feels properly compensated; more than
nine in ten want access to health insurance at
affordable rates; and more than four in five experience hardships when service
fee checks are late.
A new year is upon us and a new day is dawning with
it. Negotiations between our union and the state are in the offing, giving
Providers a historic opportunity to have our stories heard.
