Scholarships

Scholarships for members and family

Local 503 offers two types of one-year scholarship awards to active members and their spouses, domestic partners*, children, and grandchildren. Awards are based on financial need and scholastic ability. You must be an active SEIU Local 503 member for one year to apply for these scholarships.

  • Financial Aid Award. An award of $500 per school year is offered to students entering an accredited institution of higher learning in the United States.
  • Grant-in-Aid Award. An award of $750 per school year will enable current students to remain enrolled in any accredited institution of higher learning.

Part-time enrollment (minimum of 6 credit hours) or enrollment in graduate programs will be considered only for active members, their spouses, or laid-off members. Detailed eligibility rules are available at SEIU Local 503. Applications are accepted during the late fall to early winter months of each year for the following academic year.

* Domestic partners must complete an Affidavit of Domestic Partnership and have it on file at the SEIU Local 503 benefits office.

For more information, contact Member Benefits at 503.581.1505. On-line applications available through the Oregon Student Assistance Program.
