North Carolina Employees Join SEIU
A delegation from the State Employees Association of North Carolina
When the State Employees Association of North Carolina considered affiliating with SEIU,
leaders of the 55,000-member SEANC found an ideal role model: SEIU 503.
Delegations twice visited Oregon for a firsthand view and 503 representatives went to Greenville, N.C., to brief members.
SEANC has now voted to
join SEIU
in what its executive director calls "the largest union victory ever for working people across the South."
SEANC, SEIU Local 2008, is the South’s leading state employee association with 55,000 members strong. With 1.9 million members, SEIU is the fastest-growing union in North America and includes over one million public employees who have united to improve their lives and the services they provide.
