SEIU Local and National Scholarship Programs
Local 503 offers two types of one-year scholarship awards to active
members and their spouses, domestic partners*, children, and
grandchildren.
You must be an active SEIU Local 503 member for one year to apply for these scholarships.

• Financial Aid Award.
An award of $500 per school year is offered to students entering an accredited institution of higher learning in the United States.
• Grant-in-Aid Award.
An award of $750 per school year will enable current students to remain enrolled in any accredited institution of higher learning.
Part-time enrollment
(minimum of 6 credit hours) or enrollment in graduate programs will be considered only for active members, their spouses, or laid-off members.
Detailed eligibility rules are available at SEIU Local 503. Applications are accepted during the late fall to early winter months of each year for the following academic year.
* Domestic partners must complete an
Affidavit of Domestic Partnership (download here) and have it on file at the SEIU Local 503 benefits office.

SEIU also offers scholarships through several national union scholarship programs. Through five different scholarship programs, SEIU awards 52 scholarships that enable SEIU members and their children to pursue their educational goals at accredited colleges, universities, and technical schools.
SEIU's scholarships are open to SEIU members or their children. The John Geagan Scholarship is also open to local union staff. All awards must be for the academic year(s) awarded. Scholarships will be awarded without regard to the sex, race, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, age, or disability of any applicant. Scholarship awards are limited to one per household. letter letting you know if your application was successful or not. The
names of the winners will also be posted on SEIU’s web site at
