Free Life Insurance
All members of Local 503 automatically receive $2,500 in free life insurance. You
are automatically enrolled when you become a member of SEIU Local 503.
The coverage continues as long as you are a dues-paying SEIU Local 503
member.
Additional Life and Disability Insurance
Members also have the opportunity to purchase additional life and disability insurance through the Regence Life and Health Insurance Company. Members must work at least 80 hours per month to qualify.
New members who elect coverage within 90 days of becoming a member may enroll for either $17,000 or $34,000 of supplemental life insurance without having to answer health questions. Members are then eligible to increase their supplemental life to the next benefit level during Open Enrollment yearly, up to a maximum of $69,000. Please refer to your policy for details.
Supplemental policies include an accidental death and dismemberment policy of three times your benefit amount.
Members who enroll in the supplemental life insurance program within 70 days of becoming a member may also enroll in the Short Term Disability program at the same time without having to answer health questions.
Dependent life insurance for your spouse/domestic partner and children in the amounts of $2,500 or $5,000 is also available.
