Candidate Statements: Interim 503 Board Eelections, AFH & NH elections
2008-2010 Interim 503 Board Elections,
Adult Foster Home & Nursing Home Elections
An election for Adult Foster Home and Nursing Home positions is underway. Having met the deadline for nominations which closed July 29, 2009, candidates for these positions have submitted their candidate statements. Ballots will be mailed August 17, 2009 with a return cut-off of 5:00 PM September 8, 2009.
Officers and Directors are key components of democratic trade unionism. Members holding these positions serve as the democratically elected representatives of members in his/her local or statewide Board region/sector. Any SEIU Local 503 member in good standing may run for office.
Candidates are listed in randomized order on the ballots based on a formula developed by the Secretary of State. Answers to questions on the candidate statements and local officer nomination forms are published as submitted by the candidate, with the exception of spelling corrections. Grammar and syntax are unchanged. Responses were limited to a cumulative total of 200 words for local officer candidates and 325 words for SEIU 503 Board Directors and Assistant Directors. Anything exceeding the maximum allotted words has been cut off. Pictures are not used for local officer elections, however, Board candidates were given the opportunity to submit a picture if desired.
