Notice of Nominations and Elections: CAPE Council
Revised CAPE Ballots in Senate Districts 4, 7, 15, 19
Because of errors on the ballot for Senate Districts 4, 7, 15 & 19 we have sent
revised ballots to all CAPE members in those Senate Districts. CAPE members
who live in those Senate Districts will get a revised ballot and they should
vote for someone to represent them in their senate district. The regional
ballots that were sent in the original mailing are correct and should be
mailed in. If a CAPE member already voted in their senate district, that's
not a problem, as senate district ballots from the first mailing will be
disregarded and therefore NOT counted. We will only count the revised ballot.
Thank you for voting in the CAPE election.
Notice of Nominations and Elections
SEIU Local 503
Citizen Action for Political Education
CAPE Council 2009-2011
Our CAPE council consists of 48 locally elected member representatives that drive SEIU Local 503’s voice in politics. The members of our CAPE council provide a voice for working Oregonians by recommending candidate endorsements and then working to get our endorsed candidates elected by phone banking, canvassing, donating resources, and getting the word out to other SEIU 503 members.
In the past, our CAPE council met quarterly, and our CAPE regions held regularly scheduled meetings during election season to both make endorsements and move our grassroots political program. The CAPE council gets regular updates about issues and campaigns that impact our SEIU members so they are informed as they help lead our political program.
The people elected to represent Oregonians in Salem and Washington D.C., impact the lives of working families and it is important that working families have a voice in the process. CAPE members are encouraged to run and be a leading voice in the election process. If you have been interested in politics for years, this is a great place to learn more. If you are new to the union, this is a great place to experience how politics impact our lives.
