Capitol Rally for Quality Public Services

DAS locals from Agriculture, Education, Consumer & Business Services, Treasury and Human Services rallied at the Capitol Sept 4, bringing attention to the parallels between quality public services, good contracts and the Nov election. Speakers included Karen Miller (DHS) and Dennis Green (Employment). Both have been elected to the DAS Central Bargaining team. Mike Powers, Regional SEIU CAPE Chair, facilitated. Candidates Senator Kurt Schrader, running for Congress (D5), Richard Riggs, Democratic candidate (HD 20), and Hanten Day, DHS SEIU member and Democratic Candidate (HD 19), were guest speakers, as well as Mike Grisby from No on Measure 64 campaign.
