sides, Union and Management, came to the table with only a few proposals
but we were far apart on the core issues of pay and benefits. After a
long negotiation process lasting more than 7 months we are confident
this is the best deal we would be able to reach and your Bargaining Team
is recommending it be ratified.
Victory at City of Tigard
SEIU Local 503 members at the City of Tigard settled a new contract on May 27. They fought back a proposal that would have eliminated all
bumping, and were able to preserve
current seniority language.
A Waste in Wilsonville?
In the aftermath of what might be the first of many rate increases, a
member of SEIU Local 503 is urging the City of Wilsonville to
re-examine its decision to privatize the construction and operation of
a new wastewater treatment plant.
Wages Up in Pendleton
Workers represented by SEIU Local 503 have successfully negotiated a new 3-year contract with the City of Pendleton that increases salaries across the board and adds new protections.
Victory at City of Wilsonville
Wilsonville city workers overwhelmingly ratified a new three-year
contract on July 31. Despite difficult economic times, city workers
were able to avoid layoffs and still negotiate pay increases each year
of the contract.
