• Kitzhaber for Governor
  Members of the Services Employees International Union have voted overwhelmingly to endorse and support Democrat John Kitzhaber for governor and pledged to campaign actively on his behalf.
• Foreclosure Fightback
  Oregon is now the 3rd highest state in the nation in home foreclosures. SEIU has a plan to hold Wall Street Banks accountable, and to protect working families.
  
• Safe…for Now
  Following an outcry by members of SEIU Local 503 and other Oregonians, the legislature’s emergency board voted July 22 to restore cuts to community care for seniors and people with disabilities.
• We're at Crunch Time
  Right after the “Showdown on K Street” we settled into more training and meeting with our Legislators.  Senator Jeff Merkley hosts a coffee meeting every Thursday morning, while he is in Washington, for all Oregon citizens.  I have attended a few of these affairs, and it’s a pleasant informal way to talk to the Senator.
