Oregon’s Kids Can’t Wait.

The 117,000 Oregon children who don't have health coverage don't receive the preventive care they need, and are more likely to end up in emergency rooms. We all pay the costs in the form of higher insurance premiums.

The Healthy Kids Initiative is a fair and accountable way to provide the care Oregon kids need.

Measure 50 Funds Health Care.
Over 70% of the new cigarette tax revenue will fund the Healthy Kids Program. The rest goes to other health programs, including health clinics, tobacco prevention, and health coverage for 10,000 low-income adults.

Who Supports Measure 50?

a long list of trusted child and health advocates, nurses, doctors, teachers, unions, and businesses.
Who Opposes it?
R.J. Reynolds and Philip Morris, the tobacco companies. Big Tobacco has spent tens of millions of dollars trying to defeat similar measures in other states and target our children as their next generation of customers.
